The Hot Springs Village Police Department inaugurated a Citizens Policy Academy in April 2014 to give residents the opportunity to become more familiar with the operations of the department.
Participants learn about each division of the department, including administrative, patrol, criminal investigation, dispatch, gates and animal control. In addition, sheriff's department personnel from Garland and Saline counties present programs on the broader scope of county-wide law enforcement.
The program lasts eight weeks, one night per week.
To sign up for the Academy, contact the HSV Police Department at 922-0011 or go directly to the application online . Send the completed application to the department (address listed on the form), and you will be contacted with available dates.
